Beyond Conception: Naturopathic Care for Optimal Fertility and Hormone Health

by Dr. Atousa Faraz BSc (Hon), ND

April 19-25, 2026, marks Canadian Fertility Awareness Week. This week is meant to highlight reproductive health and open the door to discussing fertility challenges that many face in silence. Whether you are planning to conceive now or in the future, understanding your fertility is important.

As a naturopathic doctor, I take a holistic and individualized approach to fertility care. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms or timelines, I work with patients to uncover and address the root causes that may be impacting reproductive health.

This can include:

  •  Infertility

  • Hormonal imbalances

  • Stress

  • Digestive health issues

  • Nutrient deficiencies

  • Lifestyle factors

I help patients better understand their menstrual cycles, ovulation patterns, egg and sperm quality, and overall hormonal health. From there, I create personalized treatment plans that may include targeted nutrition, botanical medicine, acupuncture, and lifestyle support. My goal is to support the body’s natural ability to achieve balance and optimize fertility for those going through natural conception or Assisted Reproductive Technologies such as In Virto Fertilization (IVF) or Intrauterine Insemination (IUI).

Fertility is not just about conception. It is about building a strong foundation for healthy pregnancy and long-term well-being of both parents and children. During Canadian Fertility Awareness Week, I invite you to take a proactive step in understanding your reproductive health. Whether you have just started thinking about fertility or have been trying to conceive for some time, naturopathic care can offer supportive, evidence-informed options tailored to your unique journey. You don’t have to navigate this alone; support is available, and your health deserves attention. Book your appointment with me today and let’s explore your fertility journey together.
