Gym and Sim Season

Summer in Canada is all about playing golf and maximizing time on the course. As outdoor golf winds down, it’s time to focus on fitness and golf skill development indoors. To play better golf next summer, your "off-season" needs to become your on-season. Welcome to Gym and Sim Season where golf fitness plus simulator coaching is your blueprint for lasting improvement.

Many golfers start thinking about what they need to improve their game around the time of the Masters Tournament. That is much too late. Real improvement takes time. It’s essential for developing mobility, strength, and power, and for learning to appworkly it all to your swing. From now until your first round in 2026, you've got just over five months – even less if you're planning a winter golf getaway. The good news? With our help that’s enough time to make a real, lasting improvement in your game.

The 5-Month Gym and Sim Program: Your Path to a Better Body and Better Swing

Dedicate the next five months to training and golf simulator lessons, and you'll see a significant improvement in your golf game. Our program focuses on:

  • Mobility: Enhance range of motion to swing efficiently
  • Strength: Build the force you need for a solid swing
  • Power: Optimize your strength for distance
  • Speed Training: Translate it all into clubhead speed

As you progress through each training focus, it is best to combine your own gym work with coaching from a TPI-certified Trainer and your Pro. TPI-certified (Titleist Performance Institute) trainers who specialize in golf-specific fitness and movement can coordinate with your Pro providing an integrated approach ensuring you develop better consistency, distance, and accuracy.

How it Works:

Our program is designed to maximize results and minimize injury, progressing from mobility to strength, power, and finally speed. Each focus area spans four to six weeks and begins with an assessment to ensure your exercises are custom tailored to your individual needs. Layer in dedicated lessons and practice on a simulator so you can apply your new capabilities immediately.

Partnering for Your Success:

Last month, the Toronto Athletic Club partnered with Modern Golf, located at First Canadian Place, to host an exciting golf fitness event. Attendees had the opportunity to meet with two of TAC’s TPI-certified fitness trainers, alongside the CPGA Pro and expert club fitting staff from Modern Golf. Participants gained valuable insights into how their body mechanics and golf swing work together—and what they need to improve their game. This collaboration gives TAC members access to a premium indoor golf simulator experience at Modern Golf and is designed to elevate your golf fitness and performance no matter the season.

Ready to get started?

Whether you're a seasoned golfer or just starting out, this program will help you move better, get stronger, and swing with more confidence. To book a personalized consultation with one of TAC's TPI Certified trainers, simply email Marvin or Eric today! It's time to make this Gym and Sim Season your strongest "off-season" yet!
