BRANDON BERNICK

BRANDON BERNICK

Strength Lab & Gym Floor Manager, Personal Trainer

Growing up in Toronto, Brandon has been involved in sports and athletics since he was little. Team sports being his preference, he gravitated to hockey, basketball, and provincial level baseball. He still plays men's league softball, recreational flag football, and competes in an Ontario wide touch football organization. He has recently taken up golf and been working through the ups and downs of it!

As a result of his passion for movement and remaining active, as well as his enjoyment in working with a team, he found personal training to be the ideal fit. He is truly fascinated with the desire to learn and understand the 'how' and 'why' of the body, leading him to further his knowledge and training in biomechanics and muscle function.

Brandon's natural ability to be highly engaged and focused allos him to be an incredible trainer to his clients. He believes that every client's body has a reason for why it moves the way it does, whether or not the individual is conscious of its choice. Taking a patient and detailed approach allows him to teach, cue, and clarify movement ranging from the most isolated and all the way up to sport and life.

With Brandon's passion for hte mechanics of the body, he enjoys the process of working through injuries and reintegrating everyday movements. Whether its playing hockey or golfing pain free, walking the dog, or playing with their kids. Brandon will help guide you there!

In addition to Brandon's ability to bring clients back from injury, he also provides training and guidance for sport performance and proficiency of movement. His experience with hockey players, rock climbers, golfers, gymnasts, and triathletes provide him a great eye for analyzing movement, and teaching the body to be as efficient, powerful, and safe as possible.

BEST PIECE OF ADVICE HE'S EVER RECEIVED:

I found this quote in a book about the psychology of golfers, and I find it has a great translation to training and life: "Negativity is almost 100% effective."

FAVOURITE WORKOUT SONG:

I typically don't workout with my own music, but when I do, I find that it totally depends on the day. Generally, anything that falls in the world of rock and hip hop can get me through a workout.

FAVOURITE CHEAT MEAL:

That's an easy one...Pizza!

TESTIMONIALS:

“I have been training with Brandon for 18 months; during this time, I have gained more confidence in the gym around weights and realizing how much more my body can do. Brandon makes our workouts fun, knows when he can push me, and realizes the times that he can’t. He is attuned to how my body is feeling and adapts the workout accordingly, but still makes me work! He knows my goals and is working with me to achieve them, and with his help and drive he will help me do it. Quietly confident. Brandon knows his stuff.” – Bernie

“Brandon has been an incredible asset for getting me focused on my health and overall wellbeing. He demonstrates patience, high composure, and is technically strong around all of the fundamentals of strength and conditioning. I would highly recommend him to anyone considering personal training.” – Todd

“When I started working with Brandon almost 3 years ago on my MAT journey, I was experiencing significant nerve and muscle pain in my left leg and hip that was really impeding my day-to-day life. As a result of my sessions with Brandon, I am now largely pain free and am feeling much stronger and fitter. Not only is Brandon a skilled MAT trainer, he is also great to work with. He is a great listener, easy to talk to, and clearly explains the exercises he is asking me to do so I am able to execute properly.” – Cally

“Brandon is very good about identifying underlying issues that are restricting one’s movement. He then devises workout routines that specifically addresses those imbalances.” – Paul
