Ready for the Holidays?

The Healthy View

We’re getting ready to wrap up 2020. But before we do, we’re ready to celebrate the holidays and spend a few days relaxing before we move onto 2021.

Our teams at the Sport Medicine Clinic & Adelaide Health Clinic are working hard to ensure everyone is in good health before the holidays. We will be taking a few days off over the next few weeks. Our holiday hours are:

Until December 23rd: 7:30am – 6:00pm (regular hours)
December 24th: 7:30am – 2:00pm
December 25th & 28th: Closed
December 29th & 30th: 7:30am – 6:00pm
December 31st: 7:30am – 2:00pm
January 1st: Closed
January 4th: 7:30am – 6:00pm (back to our regular hours)

If you’re looking to book an appointment before the end of the year, please reach out to the Clinic today.

Getting Ready for an Active Winter

Osteoarthritis (OA) could be a perfect excuse not to exercise this winter. But in reality, an exercise program developed and supervised by our Sport Medicine Clinic team for patients with OA-related knee pain could help decrease your pain while improving your active lifestyle this winter.

Hyaluronic acid gel is a normal component of our joint fluid but it undergoes negative changes as our joints age. Injections of these gels (viscosupplementation) are safe but they don’t work for everyone and, like every treatment, the research isn’t 100% clear. Although many people seem to do very well with these injections, rehab, weight loss, and exercise are key elements, of course.

Dr. Tim Rindlisbacher would be happy to discuss this single intra-articular injection option with anyone who wants to remain active this winter. This is a good option for joint wear and tear (OA) that isn’t advanced enough to need joint replacement surgery. Fortunately, most insurance companies cover the cost of these injections.
