As a Personal Trainer, the two most common questions that I get asked around this time, year after year are:
1.When do people gain most of their weight for the year?
2.How long does it take them to lose it during the year?
Most people gain their yearly weight during the week of Dec.24 to Jan 1st and then, unfortunately, they don’t lose it at all. Instead, they carry that weight until the next December at which time they add to it, again.
This year, break the holiday weight gain cycle by factoring in some activities during the festive season that include you being outside away from food like going for a family walk or skiing. Anything that gets you up and moving can help counter all those extra calories.
Sure, it is great to be with family and enjoying tasty food, but by adding extra activity into your holidays, you'll minimize weight gain. You’ll also feel healthier and be in better spirits when January rolls around and you discover that you didn’t put on 10lbs over the holidays!!
