It’s with pleasure to introduce our new yoga instructor, Sarah Murphy!
Sarah started her yoga practise with the CGOC at the Adelaide before we decided to poach her for ourselves at Toronto Athletic Club. Her path to towards becoming a “yogi” started with her first yoga class at McGill in 2001. It was there that the breathing aspect of the practise kick-started her yoga hunger. She was thrilled with the simplicity, and satisfied by the all-levels accessibility of the practice.
Before nose diving into the yoga lifestyle, Sarah earned a Master of Arts at Carleton in the School of Canadian Studies. Upon completion, she made her first two-month trip to India to immerse herself in the practise of yoga. Her overall experience there can easily be described as “eye opening”, and Sarah continues to return to India to further expand her connection with the practice.
Sarah continues to push herself to new heights and is constantly looking for areas where she can grow and improve. Even when training herself, she loves to push the balance to the point right before losing control. Alas, she admits that falling over is a constant humbling occurrence greeted with a smile.
“If you’ve never tried yoga, I really believe it is something from which anyone and everyone can benefit. I would say it’s one of the best ways to take care of your mind and body, and to keep you young.”
Sarah is currently doing a Yoga Foundations Course here at the TAC which started February 27th. If you'd like to learn more about what she has to offer or have an inquiry on the practise of yoga, drop her a line at firstname.lastname@example.org
